DIY Manual shift knob Carbon Fiber Vinyl Wrapping
Decided to wrap my shift knob and the plastic cover around the cup holders with carbon fiber vinyl. Also replaced the mercedes shift knob cap with amg aluminum cap.
I have included a file with the instructions to remove the shift knob.
Tools Needed:
1. Torx screwdriver set.
2. Heat gun (or hair dryer) I used hair dryer.
3. Plastic Spatula
4. Carbon fiber vinyl
Instructions:
1. Using the plastic spatula pull out the leather shift glove together with the plastic chrome glove trim.
2. Turn the leather shift glove inside out.
3. Lose the plastic clamp by turning counterclockwise.
4. Pull the shift knob upward.
5. Once you have the shift knob released, using heat gun or hair dryer heat the center cap and remove it with a tiny screwdriver.
6. Under the plastic cap there will be torx screw which hold the plastic cap trim/holder. Under the plastic cap trim holder there will be 3 more you have to remove. Wrap the parts you want and put it back together
