Hi guys,

Is there a way to have both my daytime running lights (led stripe) and my lowbeam on both at the same time during daytime? I moved the headlight knob from Auto to the right to low beam, then turn on the DRL using the button below the knob. However, low beam does turn on but not the DRL. the DRL icon on my dash turns on, but not the light when i step outside to look at it. However, when I turn the headlight knob back to Auto, the DRL turns on. Why is this?

The icon you are talking about is not for the DRLs but for the fog lights. In order to achieve what you want, you need to do it through the dashboard menu. Check out the user manual, under vehicle settings.

Ohh i didn't know i had a fog light! Where is it located?

Fog light is located at the back left tail light it is 4 diodes...

Ok in my dashboard menu, I have DRL turned on. Today, when I manually turned on my low beams, my DRL automatically turns off. It still doesn't keep turned on. Today's weather is a bit dark and i'd like my DRL on ... Anyone know why this is happening?

I have an US model 2013 C250, no lighting package.

There is a reason the DRL's dim. It can be blinding to other drivers when it's darker.

Also a quick note that I noticed on mine is that as your standing at normal level the DRLs seem like they aren't on when they in fact are. If you bend your knees a little you'll see they are on but not to strong to where they blind on coming traffic but your vehicle is still noticed.

I tried mine in front of my black car so I could see the reflection. DRL was indeed turned off when i turned low beams on.

When you say DRL, are you referring to the LED strip or the small light next to your highbeams?

Horizontal LED strip below the headlight. On the front bumper.

Yes, i enabled DRL in system settings.

If im not mistaken, turning it to the right (lowbeam mode) should also leave the led strips on. Im gonna have to check later when I get to my car.

Just checked and sure enough lowbeams and led strips both stay on. Make sure you look carefully because, like they mentioned before, with lowbeams on, the led strip is very dim so during the day it may look like its off from up close.

Ohhh gotcha. I'll pay more attention when I try it later.
I wished they didn't dim..... It's not as blinding as someone who has aftermarket HIDs

If you dont have Xenon, DRL turns off if light goes on.

If you have xenon, the DRL will stay on and dim.

Is there a way to overwrite this setting for non xenon? I don't understand why MB would do this

This is done because in most country's it's forbidden by law.

It can be reprogrammed, your datacard shows the 240 code, and cars with ILS have code 236 code. So if they reprogram it it CAN give the effect .


But you have to find someone who is willing to do this.

And have also read that it CAN give error codes, since theres no ILS on your car.

I have been searching for this all a long time, but i leave it the way it is.

Also read about DRL dimmers , but dont want to cut on oem wires.

I have a 2013 c250 sedan sports and was wondering, if you move the switch from Auto to the left once, does the sign turn on? I drove the 2014 models for loaner cars while my car was at the service yard and I noticed they turn on. However, in my 2013 it doesn't turn on. The lights ARE ON when looking at it from outside the car. I am talking about the light on the dashboard that displays whether the lights are on or not.

Maybe in your country.. But here in America the DRL / LED strip mounted to the front bumper stays on just dims. I have a 2013 C250 without the Xenon package and my DRL is on all the time, night or day.

I see Benz all the time at night when I'm driving on the highway with low beams on and DRL are also still on.

can you check if your side light icon display turns on when you move the light switch to the left once from the AUTO?

I have a 2013 C350 with ILS, the parking light icon never turns on regardless of the light switch position.
The 2014 models they do turn on the parking light icon all the time.

Any one knows how to update the 2013 corresponding software to act like 2014?

What do you mean side light icon display? Like the light the comes on in the dish when the lights are on? And for night time or day time?
