Mercedes W204 C200K
Unhappy w204 C200K Not Starting - No Dash Lights - Steering Locked

I drove my car from my garage then stop it with the steering in full left, key was drawn off. After few minutes, I started again, but nothings happened. No dash light, steering locked, no start, but the key can locked and unlocked the door.
Someone can help me?

Im afraid your EIS could be fried
over a thousand to fit a new one and get your keys programmed. I hope your warranty has not run out

I think Big Daddy is right. I've heard it can run upwards of $2K to fix. Good luck!

I have been finding a lot of posts about the 2008 C300 EIS failing - anyone know of a recall? Any workouts with MB? This just happened to me, waiting for roadside assistance now.

I have a c200 2009 w204 with the same problem my "evl" steering lock is damaged. Is it possible to replace it with a second hand unit or do you have to order a new unit.....

2008 C350 with 75K miles and this just happened to me as well. $1,100 parts and 4 hours labor to replace. Such a strange piece to have mechanical failure. I swear certain parts on these cars have an doomsday/self-destruct date programmed where the part just craps out all at the same time. And just for a little extra salt in the wound MB Roadside Tow partner jacked my front bumper while loading the car onto a the flat bed. Oh well, free bumper repair and repaint and a couple of extra days with the 2014 C-class loaner.

I have around the same mileage and just had...

thermostat replaced
blower motor replaced
pulley tensioner replaced
pulley belt replaced

Totaling around $2500 in non-warranty repairs...

I hope this doesn't happen to me.
