Power Window Issue

2012 C350

My driver side window (and only driver side window) will roll down automatically if I push it past the click. However, when pulling the switch up past the click, it does not go up automatically as it should.

Also, when I manually hold the switch up until the window closes, it will open very slightly again after it has completely closed. I then pull the switch up again and it won't open slightly. I am sure the dealer will take care of it but was wondering if there is a quick fix instead?

That's what happens when something obstructs the full closing of the window. You can check whether the path of the windows is clear (check out for leaves or something else that may prevent the window from closing). This has been done for safety reasons, to make sure the window cannot hurt someone's hand, for example.

That makes a lot of sense actually because I've been hearing something getting caught before all this happened. Thank you.

This well known little glitch has been going on for at least 12 years (my 2001 W203 did this periodically also) and the fix is in your manual. Look for reprogramming windows or some such.

you have to reteach the window motor so keep pulling up and holding the button or other way around. I'm sure there's a simple google fix.

That is happening the same to my car, in the same side (driver side).

Altought i think my button is damaged in the auto up window click (when you pulll it all up and the window closes automatic. The button in that position stops responding and does nothing to the windows. I can only close the window manually (have to let stay my finger in the button till it closes...)

But the window is still opening a bit... Strange...

Hope someone post a fix...

No, it's the same problem. Just reset the window, you can find it in the manual.

To reset the motor, hold the window switch all the way up and hold it for 10 seconds then release. I might take a few tries until the problem corrects itself.

Tried the reset on 3 different days and didn't seem to wanna work. However, I noticed that it's working properly again this morning...

I hate how my MB does this because I can never show the dealer what's going on by the day of my service appointment.
