Driver door doesn't lock?

Driver door doesn't lock?
Hi guys,

I have a 2009 C300. I've recently noticed that when using the lock switch inside the car, the drivers door does not lock. This occurs when using either door lock switch. However, if I lock the vehicle with the key fob, it locks fine. Is this normal? Am I missing something here?

Also - The key is not in the ignition when trying to lock it either.

If the driver door is open, then it will not lock. Safety function so you dont lock your keys in.

No, it's not locking even with the door closed.

I just made an appointment to have it looked at. Thanks for the feedback!
