X pipe

Guys, I need your help and suggestions, I am adding quad exhaust tips to my c300 with the amg diffuser, I also want to change the sound a bit, I been doing some research on the xpipe and everyone has done it with the magnaflow 10790.. But I am wondering if anyone has tried the ones in the links below, it looks like the pipe size would fit, its seems to be a lot cheaper than the magnaflow.. Any feedback is welcomed, thanks guys

The welds on the eBay one looks like crap. If you're going to purchase a no-name brand X pipe, any local muffler should will have it. Don't waste time buying online and waiting for it to ship. Go to your local reputable muffler shop and see the quality and finish in person.

I have the Lawson pipe and it's fine. The welds were much better than the eBay one you linked. Go for it...

I completely agree with you, but for me since its just for sound I don't really mind getting a cheaper x pipe.

Go for it
Inspect the welds and quality immediately after receiving it, and if it looks like garbage, RMA it back to Amazon. You don't want to deal with pipe cracking down the road....

If your going to take your car to a shop to have the work done you might as well just buy it from them.

My muffler shop had 2.5" magnaflows and I had them order a 2.25", it only costs them like $60, and with labor it shouldn't be more than around $150ish for the whole job, depending on where you live. I'd say spend a little extra with something name brand. I'd rather tell my friends it was a magnaflow X-pipe than just some random generic...not that it really matters though. Good luck man!

Now that's a good one. Tell them it's titanium. Are your friends going to crawl under the car to confirm whether you're lying or not?

Magnaflow is fine, not knocking that, but the Lawson pipe has perfectly good welds as well and they aren't some generic shadetree company. I just find it funny that brand matters for something so inconsequential as an x-pipe. If it were the mufflers themselves, sure...

I purchased a Magnaflow X-pipe from Amazon and was very satisfied with it.
The price was very reasonable and the quality was excellent.
I think it's the best mod for your buck, great sound without being too loud or like a broken muffler.

Doanster do you remember if the one you got is the same part number as the one I posted from amazon.com?

Although I'm in Florida, I have a video of my C300 with a Lawson xpipe. I highly recommend this...only cost me $70 installed.

Here is a link to my video...

No drone at all. Only time you really notice the exhaust is when you floor it (especially around 3.5k to 4.5k rpms). The rest of the time its pretty quite.

As a side note, I took the resonators off my wife's A5 2.0 this week and that was a big mistake - drone like you wouldn't believe. Plus, it sounded like a farm tractor so I ended up having them put back on.
