Hey all just got a pre owned c350 2009 and was wondering if anyone on here wants to group buy a new DVD for the maps for the 2012? Or if I can "rent" one?

I'd be interested. Not sure which version I currently have, but I assume since the car is only from 2009 it shouldn't be that old? Is your version 2012?

I have the 2012.2 which is the latest 2012 version. I bought it since I just completed a COMAND retrofit of a 2009 system into my 2010 C350. Major improvement as we have had a great deal of road construction are the Washington DC area over the last 3 years. also updated POIs.

I would also recommend that you check with your dealership about a firmware update--this is separate from the navi update but the improvement are well worth it. My dealership charged me the hour labor to do it however the updated the firmware not only on the COMAND, but the Amp and UCI as well. Much more functional if you use the music register.

BTW you can check the version in your navi screen. If it pops up with no version and tells you to check with your dealership then you are most likely out of date. that's what mine did.

Yeah, I just took it in yesterday to have that update done. The com and system is all up to date. Adds the clock and stuff. The version does say unknown. So you have the same comand as I do I assume with the retro fit? So its a DVD you install on the HDD?

Exactly. You put the nav update DVD in slot #1, execute one command and it begins the update. Plan on not going anywhere for a few hours as it take a long time for the update to upload to the HDD. You car needs to be running as well but not moving. I have the original in its case with the instructions. Pretty simple.
