Hissing noise
recently had my instrument cluster replaced , I noticed a hissing noise coming from the drivers side. not sure what it is. can only hear it when car is on and nothing when I looked under the hood in the engine bay.

any idea what it could be ?

Any snakes in your area ?.

The brake booster is on the RHS . Does it sound like air or an electrical noise ?

I doubt its a snake . haha but its coming from the instrument cluster area , what filter could it be?

it happens when idle and upon acceleration. Just harder to hear when accelerating of course.

so if it only happen after you replace your instrument cluster , then you might want it to be reinstall it again. maybe the sound was from the engine bay but came into the car through instrument cluster without it being proper installed.

so I noticed pulling the steering wheel down, up or to the side the noise goes away ... so confused

I had a rattle in the dash. Turned out to be the steering wheel adjusting mechanism .There seems to be some very light weight metal plates there that vibrate. I wrapped it in foam with a strong tape & voila !! silence.
