Upshifting and downshift with the touchshifter

The question of whether to place wear on the transmission or the brake pads is a classic question with strong arguements on either side. If you plan on keeping the car for awhile then protect the transmission. If you are going to swap it out in a few years and want to avoid paying for a brake job then use the transmission. Only you can decide.
Perhaps its my driving style.
If I'm in D1, I rev up to say 3500 RPM, let off the gas, and upshift, placing me in D2,
However, D3, D4, seem to have some delay in response. sometimes the shift indicator on the dash will say D4, but the RPM's indicate otherwise.
If I leave my foot depressed on the gas pedal shifting occurs when I activate it.
