How can I see if I need a TCU update?
I'm trying to see if I should have my dealership update the TCU. Does anyone know how I would check to see if there is an update available? I've searched the threads and it looks like one came out in 2010, and my car is a 2010 so I don't know if it has it or not. I bought it CPO a few months ago and don't know if the previous owner had it done.

The Mercedes Star diagnosis system should be able to read if the TCU was updated or not. Since this is a free update, the MB service can always just reflash the TCU anyway even if the update has already been done previously.
Provides a huge initial improvement in 7G performance, until the "Learning" starts contaminating the shifting behavior and eventually the transmission will become almost as sluggish and laggardly as before. Too bad.
