Kappa Complete Audio upgrade

Kappa 60.9 & kappa 62.9. I am also installing a kappa 5 that's a 5 channel amplifier with an on board parametric EQ. Also adding a 10" kappa/ bazooka bass tube. I will post the install on YouTube next week...stay tuned!

How do you feed the input to the amplifier? From the speaker leads out of the Audio 20?

PAC and scoutch make a good converter

The converter installs behind the radio, this is where i will also connect to the f&R speaker wire and extend them to the rear, where the kappa five will be installed on the back wall, hiding all the wire behind the board.

Keep us posted, I'm interested! Are you planning on using any sound dampening/vibration cancelation in the trunk? I've been on the fence about doing this mod for a while now.

Acapulco Bill - I remember reading you had a little bit of vibration after long use of your bass set-up in the trunk. Would you think creating a sealed enclosure in the trunk - but porting the enclosure through the rear "dashboard" into the cabin would eliminate vibration? Please excuse my terminology, hope I am making sense.

Thanks,
Troy

@Troy: The vibrations crept in because of my carelessness in the installation, as torquing the mounting screws slight distorts the rear shelf, with sun and temperature changes tiny gaps appear and thats where the buzz develops.

In a previous lifetime for mechanical and electric typewriters they used to sell these dense spongy rubber noise-absorbing pads about 1/4 inch thick. That would be the ideal material to sandwich in between the rear shelf or the rear seat backing and the sub. Regular foam rubber wont hack it as it compresses and deteriorates. If I find the ideal material in amazon or Ebay I will send a link.

For the moment the subwoofer rattle has stopped, maybe its seasonal or I am just not turning up the volume. My Ford is just SO much quieter, but maybe thats subjective, one would need to use a SPL meter and drive at the same speed over the same (rough) road.

This is the ideal material to sandwich between a subwoofer and mounting surface. A little expensive, but is durable, impervious to moisture, and effective.

true... I have been on the fence. hopefully I wont have to deal with rattling from a benz, if so line-x will be my solution.I really was debating a sub, but i prefer nice deep bass...but not competition loud, just good better than Bose quality. Im in my 40's guys, my 4 15's in a Chevy Blazer days are gone.

ps, Im still waiting on my gear...should be delivered in a day now.
