Help,tire cupping 2010 c 300,michelins
i own a 2010 c-300 sport,michelins staggered factory set up!
Bought the car a courtesy vehicle at 11,000 mile, now at 41,000 with tire cupping issues, loud tire noise, sounds like howling wheel bearings!
A year or so ago, they balanced and aligned the car, but still the same issue!
Has anyone had the same issues, please some help and advice would be nice!
i am leaning to replace the Michelins with a softer tire and leaning toward the toyo proxes 4 plus !
Please advise,...very frustrated owner !!

How many times were the tires rotated, side to side, during the 30,000 miles you have had it?
In the general W204 forum, do a search on "feathering" and read the posts where my name is on the right hand side of the screen. It may be feathering wear, vs cupping wear.
Also, Tirerack has a survey chart where people report on how noisy the tire is.
If they are oem's, 40K is pretty good life. Tires with extreme feathering wear can sound like a slightly bad bearing. RFor a real bad bearing ... say rear, two people in the rear seat6 would have a hard time hearing each other over the screaming noise.

Never did a side to side rotation,i never thought about it and nothing in the manual about it, and no input from the dealer about it!
What is your expierience regarding this isuue ?
The noise is like a bad wheel bearing and air turbulence sound but not as loud as you describe!
Thanks for your time and input!!

I thought the manual refers to michelin about rotation. I'd say every 5K miles, 10K max. Stay away from directional tires.
Do the search I suggested ... it explains why.
Nothing wrong with the tires, except they were never rotated.
