2013 c350 sedan questions

I am in the process of buying a 2013 c350 from the factory, as I am not interested in the multimedia package most dealers carry with this vehicle. As a result, factory order was the only route I could take.

I have ordered it with 040 black and Black MB-Tex with the lighting package, 18'' AMG 5 twin spokes, and the lane tracking package. My first question was to ask for any insight on the interior wood trim-- Black Ash or Burl Walnut?

Secondly, I rarely really use navigation now especially with iPhones, etc so is not getting the multimedia a mistake? When looking at the package (MSRP $2700) it just doesn't seem worth it to me. The camera is not a big deal to me, 6 disc CD/DVD (who really uses cd's anymore), and the voice control was neat, but I can't justify the purchase for that alone.

Final question, does anyone know if waiting for the 2014 to come out would be worth it or is the '13 not much different than the what the '14 should be.

Thanks in advance for your time.. look forward to hearing from anyone's experiences if they can offer up anything.

I can answer your second. I did the same thing with my car, it was factory ordered after new years because I thought the multimedia package was a waste. I picked it up two weeks ago and I feel like I made the right decision. I get turn by turn directions and music with my iphone via bluetooth. Also, I don't have to worry about updating car navi software.

The only minor downside is that I still have the voice command button on the steering wheel, even though it does nothing. It doesn't matter to me, just thought I should mention

It is very possible that you will find a dealer with a C350 with multimedia on the lot that is willing to discount the car enough that it will be the same price as a custom order non-MM car. Even if it costs you 10-20$ more a month, probably still worth it, even if you dont need it. It is still a nice feature to have.

There are 2 dealerships out here in Las Vegas and the one actually has my exact color specs, with the additional MM package, Parktronic w/ parking guidance, and rear side airbags. I'm looking at a price of 43,400 + tax and fees now, and the MSRP sticker of the car on the lot is 50,315. The additional options (at invoice) are 2595+902+391= 3890. So what do you think I should ask for?

I think you'll find the 2014 model very different. Its not a facelift, but a new generation W205. Lots of pictures around the forum, so have a look and see if you like it more. I would want a whacking great discount to buy a 2013.

About the MBtex, I will spring for leather next time. Apparently the current "Artico or MB tex" is not the MB tex of old, and is not generally holding up well. My seat fabric is cracking in 22,000 miles and I only weigh 180lb. First premature interior fabric failure I've experienced since the 1970's. Not good.

Anyone else have any issues with MB-Tex not holding up? Is the leather worth the extra money?

I agree, base Audio20 sucks! Get the MM. Plus you cant just swap in a new radio. Its got fiber optic so the whole car has to be rewired from scratch. Im doing that next month with a Pioneer Avic 140Z..running me about $2500 installed

My 2013 C350 has finally arrived! 4 month process from start to finish (built in Germany, last year they will be doing so as they will move to Tennessee for 2014) but well worth the wait. Again I would like to reiterate I live in Las Vegas, but worked with Mercedes Dealership of Tampa and they got me 13% off MSRP no hassle. Very easy process and highly recommend them. Can work with anyone around the country. My SA was Chris Pelletier.

Congrats on the ride. I was only able to get 11.5% off when I started the order process back in Sept. 2011 for a 2012 model. Unlike yours though, mine was 9 month process due to a Japanese Tsunami freezing all orders with a Lighting Package.

Congrats on your C350. I purchased my special order C350 with Chris Pelletier at MB of Tampa with 13% discount also. Great experience and very professional. The dealers at Miami offered less than 3% discount.
