Muffler Delete vs. X-Pipe
Good Morning,
Just received my quad exhaust tips in the mail. I'm looking to have them welded on within the next day or two.
I'm a bit flustered about whether I should delete the resonators with an X-pipe, or leave the resonators in place and delete the mufflers and replace with the tips.
On my BMW E90, I did the latter and was very pleased with the sound.
A lot of the videos I've been seeing on youtube and around the forums sound really raspy, almost to the tune of some Hondas.
I love the sound of the stock exhaust on my C300, just wish it was a bit more vocal. I don't need to wake the dead, but I want the exhaust note to be present.
Which way should I go? Delete resonators? or Delete mufflers?
On a side note, getting rid of those two bulky mufflers may spare some weight

Full on muffler delete sounds way too loud from what I've seen on youtube. While an x-pipe seems to sounds very nice and subtle. On my c350 I plan on going with the x-pipe. Like you said I don't want to wake the dead.

i had no muffler+xpipe and the drone in the cabin was really loud and annoying. However, the sound outside was great. I eventually went back to stock mufflers + xpipe. Alot quieter, but oh well. I actually tried magnaflow mufflers + xpipe, still wasn't pleased

FYI yesterday I went to a cole muffler to ask about the xpipe. After he insisted that I should straight pipe instead, I ran away to a more reputable shop. Whom is also questioning why xpipe vs straight pipe. Very curious but since xpipe is strongly recommended on the forums I'm moving forward with that.

The place where i got my xpipe installed, i went in there to get a quote. They said they have to take a look under the car to get a quote. I said okay. Went out to get some food. I come back and they're like oh we installed it, it'll be $180.
