I was wondering if there is anyone on this website that has or has had a 2008 c300 with a bad transfer case? I recently had mine replaced which cost a whopping 6500 dollars. I was wondering if this was a common problem in these cars?

 

What were the symptoms? What went wrong/broke in the transfer case? Why did it need a completely new transfer case?
