Hrmph.... :/

So my car is pulling very very slightly to the left. It has done it since I purchased it day 1. It was CPOed. I had a 4 wheel alignment done right after i bought it about 9 months ago which did not fix this issue. I was due for scheduled maintenance and mentioned it to the tech here at a new dealership because I moved. He said that they needed to do an alignment. I told him that I did not feel that it was an alignment issue. He pushed it and said that before they could do anything else they would need to do another alignment and that it would cost $150. Well I finally conceded fine. Do it. End result, the alignment was perfect. Didn't need to be changed. Do most dealerships charge you to check alignment, when I go tomorrow should I expect to be billed for it even though they didn't actually do an alignment? Cheers.

Most cases they will probably still charge you for checking the alignment. Odd that you're still pulling, I worry that maybe there was some chassis damage that's causing this if your alignment is on point.

I had the same issue here in Malaysia; my car veering to the left even after 3 alignments. The official MB dealer charged me for each of alignments done. If I had opted for a non-MB dealer, maybe the alignment would be free of charge (quite common in my country though, might be different in yours).

Or tire pull in general, try swapping side to side. Or are the roads you notice it on crowned roads? i get 3-5 complaints a day from supposed "pulling" and its very rare there is actually a pull.

Hey I forgot to post back about this. It wound up being a bad tire that was mid failure. A few months after this it blew out on me. Clearly a manufacturing defect, as stated by 4 local tire shops. Took it to the dealer, and he was adamant that I had hit something. Long story short, I raised a massive stink about it, called everyone that I knew, and the tire wound up being replaced. I sold the car, and will not be doing business with them again. Which is a shame.

Oh,

When I took the car in, they said that the first step to repairing it would be to do an alignment, if the alignment came back normal they would investigate it further. I said, that an alignment was just done, and I had been careful not to hit anything so it should not be necessary. They were adamant. I agreed.

After they did the alignment, they called me to say that the alignment was fine and that that was all they could do. So they forced me into the alignment, even though I said it was not necessary. Then didn't investigate my issues any further.

I was pretty upset about that as well. Then the tire issue happened.

An alignment at a competent tyre shop here in Australia is $60.

Never have one at the dealer.

Some shops refuse to align Mercedes cars. I'm not sure why. I was just told they are complicated.

There is one shop in town that only does alignments using manual methods and they charge $200. The dealer here charges $160 and they say there is a 50% chance they will need to get special bolts for around another $170 or so. That brings the dealer price up over $300. An independent German shop here charges $69. So it's all over the place.

I'm having a slight pull to the right, it takes about 3 seconds before I have to correct. Out in the country I straddled both lanes to see if I could eliminate road camber.

I have damaged rims on the right side of my car that I'm going back and forth with on the dealer to get fixed. Also, the selling dealer and Mercedes dealership have been debating with each other that my strut is bent too from whatever bent the rims.
