Mounting Radar Detector
Greetings: new member, first post. Proud new owner of a previously owned 2012 C-350 (Sport?), with 11,000 miles on it, with all the bells and whistles. (Cost $37k minus trade in.) I traded in a 2006 Acura RL and there is no comparison. This is my first MB and I'm totally pleased with it.
I've got my iPhone paired up, and iPod working through the car as advertised (except album art does not show up).
I apologize because I know this question has been asked and answered before, but I'm hoping for fresh input from late model C-class owners. I have an Escort Solo S2 which has saved me from ruin numerous times and I like it. Initially, I mounted it using its standard transparent suction cups, but to my surprise they left two little round, translucent white dots, about 3/8" diameter, where they had been attached to the windshield. These dots corresponded to the concave center portions of the suction cups that are not in contact with the glass.
Thinking I had somehow ruined my windshield, I removed the Solo and have not reinstalled it. I tried removing the dots with standard glass cleaners to no avail. Then, after a couple of days, the dots disappeared by themselves!
What recommendations are there for attaching this radar detector to the windshield, dash, rear view mirror, etc. in the late model C-class? Is there something about the inside of the glass that could be damaged? I've looked at some of the aftermarket gizmos for attached detectors to the rear view mirror, and I'm not sure any of them would work on this model.
Thanks for any suggestions..........

Like instructions above ----V1 on visor, with the "phone wire" tucked behind the windshield molding, then down the B-pillar and tapped into a hot wire for the headlight behind the dash panel.
Does the Solo come with a visor mount?

I have the solo S2 also. almost never use it myself but when I do I just use the supplied windshield mount works fine. I like the fact that the Solo uses internal batteries so no cord.

Yes, the Solo comes with a visor mount. However, I've never used a visor mount because then you can't really use the visor to block the sun.
Has anyone ever had suction cups leave marks on the windshield? If so, were you able to remove the marks?
