extended warranty?

I just purchased a C300 about a week ago and this is my first MB, i love the car and when i got it, the TPMS was malfunctioning and i went to the dealer to get it repleaced under the factory warranty before it expired. They offered me their extended warranty, but i was wondering do you have it ? is it worth the extra 3-5k ?

If you're planning to keep it for a long time, it's worth having an ext warranty, however, $3-5K is a ripoff. We bought an MB extended warranty (2 extra years / 100K miles) for $1650. I'm glad we bought it as the car needed some expensive work that would have exceeded this amount very easily.

I was planning on keeping it upto the 100k mark, and then maybe upgrading. i currently have 50k on it now.

You can try www.route66warranty.com and get the Easy Street plan. They offer the same extended warranty as the dealer but I think it covers a bit more parts and its pretty affordable at $2300 for additional 5yrs and up to 100k miles. Or atleast thats what my credit union offered me. I have 47k miles on mine and will be going this route soon. Also my previous c230 had 3rd party extended warranty ($2100 for 5 yrs /100k) and although I did have some warranty done I didn't quite break even ($500 short) it was worth it for me. It seems that the newer C class repair costs are going to be a bit more so it will be worth it for me to have extended warranty on this one also.

I purchased the Route 66 warranty with a car through our credit union. Had the car only two months, and it blew the rear main seal. Called 66, and they approved it right over the phone. Very impressed with this company.

Did they ask you for any maintenance record? Assuming you've only had the car 2 months they probably didn't. Is your deductible also $100?
