Not necessary if you use a Top Tier gasoline. Otherwise, Chevron's Techron is recommended by MB. You can buy it on Amazon. Follow the bottle directions carefully, starting with as empty a tank as possible and only adding 10-11 gallons of gasoline. No more than twice between oil changes. But, always using a high quality gasoline is easier and provides continuous cleaning.
