Thumbs down ***HELP***

Long story short. I Locked keys in my trunk, had car towed to mb dealership because i didnt have a spare key. They are telling me they think its in valet mode and the only way to get around it is to order another key and then open trunk that way.

This is absolutely nuts!

Does anyone know any way to open the trunk? Just seems ridiculous to spend $400 to just get a trunk open.

Please help!

Is it possible just to order the mechanical key which slides out of the electronic key fob? May be no quicker, but might be less expensive. The mechanical key code should tie to your VIN. There is a lock cylinder under the chrome trim bar, above the license plate. Know a good locksmith or car thief who might pick that lock?

I assume you don't have fold-down seats. Just wondering...why would both of your key fobs be on the same ring?

Problem is, key is in the trunk lol and I dont have the fold down seats or you bet id be crawling through and pulling that emergency lever. Im gonna call some locksmiths tomorrow and see what they say, thanks for that idea!!

When i purchased the car (used) it didnt come with an extra spare key, unfortunately, and i failed to get one since.

And yes i know this could all been avoided if only i had a spare but still, its just nuts that there is no way to get into this damn trunk

Haha! Same thing happened to my wife a couple of months ago. Luckily she was only about five miles from the the house and I happened to be at home, so I took the second key and got her out of the jam.

She also had a close call last week even though I've always told her not to use the trunk button on the remote when just needing to go to the trunk, but just use the door button. That way if the keys happen to stay in the trunk, at least it is not locked.

At least that's the way I've figured it out, but I may be wrong, though...

But yeah, like Sportstick said, you should be able to get just the flat key to open the the trunk. No remote needed.
