Both assume you have the Audio 20 headunit and standard small fixed 5" screen with the hood that lifts.
1.- iPod Integration Kit displays one item of information on the speedo, all changes to tunes and play order through pushing 6 of the 12 button on the steering wheel.
2.- UMI uses the 5" display and gives not only selection and lists of tunes via the control knob on the center console (e.g. the way the iPod Integration Kit SHOULD have been offered) but also adds NAV.
3.- UMI Plus adds more function to the UMI such as Pandora to the UMI.
4.- Not all vehicles with the standard Audio 20 headunit are wired to receive the UMI, check with your MB dealer giving your VIN.
Hope this is clear, have pdfs operating manuals of both but are too big to post.
