Why won't my iPod work anymore???
I've got a 2012 C250, great car. I had been using my iPod a lot through the command screen by simply choosing the USB function in Audio and using my standard iPod connector in the center console plugged into the USB port. Always worked fine. Then all of the sudden one day the car doesn't recognize my iPOD anymore????
I tried a different cord, no change.
I plugged in my headphones to my iPod and the iPod works.
The battery is charged.
I even tried plugging in my iPhone 4 and Command at least recognized it by saying it was not usable.
If it had never worked, I wouldn't have questioned it. I used it for a good 6 months with no issues????
Any suggestions?

Loose cable somewhere, or a broken strand between the cable and the iPod connector. 90% of all audio fails are in the cables. In the other 10%, could be an electronic problem inside the Audio headunit. Since it is under warranty, let the MB Dealer solve it.
Try another iPod or iPhone first, as not to look silly if there is lint or some other junk wedged between the iPod and the cable connector.

I loaded a couple songs on a USB memory stick, and that works. Has to be something with the iPod at least and not the car. Must be on the connection side of my iPod

Have you recently updated your iphone OS?
Sometimes, depending on the accessory, the update blocks all third company non-apple manufactured products from working on the iphone. My charger stopped working at OS 6.1 update.....

On my 2012 C350, I use an iPod Classic connected in the center armrest storage area, and I push the Disc button on the dash to bring it into operation. I'm not sure what the Disc button would do if there were a CD in the machine at the same time the iPod is connected.
