Nothing seems wrong with the shifting performance of my C300, but I will ask next time it is in for warranty work. It just doesn't have the spunk of the C250, though that makes sense given the engine differences.

Maybe your MB service department has "forgotten" (did I say "lazy" or "incompetent"?, forgive me) to do the ECU and TCU updates, although your 2011 C300 may already have the updated TCU software. MB makes many minor changes to ECU and TCU software, that over time, add up over time to a significant performance improvement overall.

Make a fuss, also have the SA punch in your VIN and insist on both a printed readout of ALL the recalls and updates for your W204, AND a list of all the equipment and accessories installed on your particular vehicle. You may be surprised!! Make sure the recalls and updates are performed for free (with an A or B service of course). The cam adjuster and sprocket recall can be done completely if you pay another aprox. $90 for parts.

I seem to have offended a few regarding my desire for a German made Benz. I apologize, however I just came from a Japanese sedan assembled in America (Ohio), while my wife also had a Japanese car, but assembled in Japan. Coming from a 12 year long relationship with both vehicles, it always seemed her fit & finish was a tad better than mine even though her car was of a lower model. So while the country of origin may not matter to MB's overall quality (or to some folks here), it was simply a check box I wanted to check off on my bucket list...so yes, country of origin mattered to me. So much so, we originally opted for European delivery (for the experience, and the opportunity to drive on the autobahn); however due to a typhoon in Japan, we had to cancel our trip because of the numerous build delays in the supply chain (Lighting package was one of them) and we simply couldn't keep moving our vacation trip further back leaving our employers hanging. At one point, because our build date may end on a winter month, MB even told us we were required to purchase winter tires or risk getting fined by local police (of which we had no use for at home in CA), so we canceled the entire event, to hopefully relive the dream later on in life with a Porsche build.
Again I apologize if I offended anyone, but I was simply sharing "my" personal reasons for purchasing a MB at the price point I mentioned earlier (regardless how quirky they may be...hence why Korean automobiles was even considered).
