C250 Muffler delete...MISTAKE
Long story short...the C250 is very sensitive to exhaust mods. I tried several configurations with my muffler delete and NOT ONE gave it any more power. I actually lost power when I removed the muffler and replaced it with a straight pipe. I was also tempted to do the whole exhaust but I have seen several member complain of Fueling issues (which I don't see how that is even related to exhaust), if anything turbo creep/surge, but I digress. It seems that these C250s exhausts are tuned very well from the factory even though its only 2 1/4" wide. Having such a large muffler with two outlets, although small, seems to be the right mix of backpressure when not in boost and free flowing nature when in boost. I did remove the panel air filter and replaced it with a 3" spectre filter custom fitted and that seemed to make a nice difference in throttle response and low end torque. I think that for now the exhaust is just fine being that is a small IHI single scroll turbo and only pushing a maximum of 17.8 PSI. If anything maybe an upgraded intercooler should help out or a TUV approved full exhaust. Please let me know if you guys have had any similar experiences with your C250. Cheers!!

Actually, this is the same thing that my MB serviceman said to me when he added second outlet pipe alongside my single tip exhaust; he also said that by removing the muffler the C250 will lose power. I however do not know why though, I'm not a techie when it comes to cars...
I however have everything stock unlike your setup (air filter etc), but my exhaust mufflers were kept intact.
What's your opinion on changing the whole exhaust system to an aftermarket one; e.g. Magnaflow or Remus etc.? Do you think that would also affect the lose of power?

That is why I still have a single exhaust on my C250. I asked about loss of back pressure from splitting to dual/quad and members insisted that it wouldn't be an issue.
Thanks for sharing your experience.

I had the same issue with 1st tracked car, non-turbo, no cats. It had a bit big stock muffler, and a header with long relativly small tubes, for some low end grunt. I had made up a race exhaust with larger pipe and glass pack near the end. Louder but less power, never used it again.
The whole engine must be set-up for a big exhaust.

A turbo usually creates the needed back pressure for a car to have ample amount of torque. Back pressure helps torque. Free flowing helps horsepower. You usually feel differences in torque before horsepower as the feeling is lower in the RPM range.
Now the C250 most likely relies heavily on the turbo for back pressure but from what everyone is saying and how turbos work, it seems as if the added back pressure of the exhaust helps.
Power gains through exhaust are so insignificant that you should only do it for aesthetics or sound. For power gains the best way is to improve intake or tune to increase pressure...which voids warranty...

In all honesty I am stupefied at how the C250 reacted with this mod. Under normal circumstances ALL turbo vehicles benefit from a free flowing exhaust for max power....but I felt a loss across the WHOLE RPM range! I am curious about purchasing RADO's mid pipe and leave the rest stock!

2014 Mercedes Benz C 250
So I have a 2014 C250 but with only the single driver side exhaust. Your C250 has the exhausts on each side. This is what I want but I am not having any luck finding a way to accomplish it. Any ideas/
