Something is wrong with my rotor?
I have recently changed to Akebono Euro brake pads and have noticed that both my front rotor has a rust color ring around it. Any idea why is it?

thats normal. Unless you have ceramic rotors like on some exotics, they will rust. The only reason your rotor surface doesn't rust is because your brakes are rubbing the surface. If you spray water on your rotor during a car wash and leave your car undriven for 2 days, you'll see the rust starting to form. As soon as you drive it and apply the brake, the rust will be gone again. It's normal, don't worry

Interesting indeed. The pad should wipe the entire surface of the rotor, pretty close to the edge. If both front rotors are like that, then it may just be that the Akebono pads have more of chamfer on the edge vs other pads? There's really no way to install the pads incorrectly since everything is a snug fit. Well, at least you'd have other clear signs such as rattling/grinding if they were installed incorrectly.
Many others are running with Akebono pads, so hopefully they'll chime in to confirm or deny. Which specific pads did you buy/have installed?

I doubt the installer made a mistake, unless he specified the pads ... then it's possible he made a mistake, but it may not matter much.
Their are benefits to doing it yourself, like matching the rubbing surface of old vs new pads. If this "rust ring" is new to you, then the new pads have less radial distance to the installed outer pad radius, vs the old ones, which likely have a better (larger) center of pressure.
But this subtle difference may not be significant, unless you track the car and use full lock.
