Cost of a Brake Job?
So, I have almost 22,000 miles on my 2012 C300 and I'm noticing a slight squeak from the rear brakes. I heard these cars eat rear brakes, but is 22,000 normal for needing a brake job? I'm having my new rims installed on Friday
and I'll probably just get the brakes done as well (if they are due). Assuming the rotors are okay, what should I expect to pay for rear pads + labor? What are my options for pads (without getting too crazy)? Low dust and appropriate for a daily driver would be nice.
Oh, and Sportstick, now I know why you rave about PowerWheelsPro. I haven't even gotten my rims yet and I am already highly impressed with their customer service!

Akebono, completely eliminated my rear dust problem. 22k seems a little low. Today, most people change rotors when they change their pads. YMMV. I was quoted about $500 for rear pads, rotors, and labor. If your only going to change the pads, I would imagine a price closer to $200 labor+parts.

I drove my '08 C300 VERY aggressively and still did not need brakes at 56K miles. I did have major brake dust on the rears, but brake pads were in the yellow when I had my last service. Pads can range from $50-$90 for rears if you buy from a reliable online source. Labor should not be more than $100 since it only takes around 20-30 minutes. From what I have seen- they are probably the easiest brake pads to change if you have any experience. You can also purchase OEM rotors from reputable online sources. I swear every time I was in the dealership waiting on my car- I heard the service advisors tell almost every customer they needed brake rotors and pads and it was going to cost $900+. One was for a 2006 C Class and they told the girl $1200. I almost jumped out of my chair.

I do not have any brake errors or noise from the brakes.
The dealer said that I need the brake fluid flushed, rear rotors and pads.
Do the rear pads and rotors wear at the same time?
