Light switch at night....

Was driving the car last night and looked at the light switch to found the rotary selector (7-8) lit up but not the selection indication (1-2-3-4-5-6) ...Is it normal? Thanks for the info....

Thanks for your reply!!! Happy to see I don't have an electrical problem or a bulb replacement.... When I first got the car I was complaining about not being able to see the parking brake release handle at night and last night I was not able to see the light selection...I guess I have to live with it ;-)

Since there's no "off" selection on my light switch (2011 C300), I just leave it in Auto and forget about it. I haven't touched the switch in at least a year... The parking brake release handle really doesn't need a light in my opinion, I've never had trouble finding it.

When I jump in my car at 04:30 in the morning to go to work I need all the light I can get ;-) Lately, I've decided to leave my light switch in auto position and found this really useful...Thanks for your reply!

What happens when you pull out on the switch, as indicated in the picture posted? I wasn't aware of that feature.

Very cool. Thanks....didn't know that! A lot of people/companies don't realize the virtues of a rear foglight. Here in Taxifornia, there are chain reaction pile ups on the freeways as idiots follow each other, simply because the car in front of them is all they can see, at freeway speeds in the fog. That's usually in the vast San Joaquin central valley in the winter, and I rarely drive in that area. But it can also occur along coastal highways.
