19" wheels rub badly on my C

I did some research and read through some old threads here and decided on my new rims finally.
I got a set of Rays G25 ,F:19×8.5J +45 on 235/30/19 PSS tires, R: 19×9.5J +50 on 265/30 PSSs.
Those threads I read indicate I won't rub even on full load with these, so I got them.
However, after changing to those rims ,driving mildly (~50mph) with 4 average people on board on highway, they would rub when the road gets a bit rough , I wonder what's wrong with my setup when others with same setup with lowering did fine while I didn't even lowered it.

Is my tires too wide or is it our roads here suck too much...

I had one inner fender liner on the rear that was a little off so it had to be bent so it doesn't rub. The inner liner is just aluminum so you can do it with your hand.

Mostly rear, But both axles rubbed, I didn't have a picture now,I will try to get one soon , But my rims sit flush to the fender (I would say as flush as yours) and with a two finger gap to fender on both axle.

How wide are the tires are you running?

I am running 20x10ET55 with 265/25x20 in the rear and it doesnt rub at all, not even with a 1.5 tonne caravan on the trailer hitch.

That's why I don't understand why it rubs, even sport mode doesn't help ...C63 have 19" options that obviously won't rub (although they have harder suspension )
What should I do to fix this?

As far as I know, you've got coilovers installed, was they set so hard that the rims can't rub? (No offense )

I dont have coils in the rear, only regular H&R springs with the lowest rubber pad.

ET50 should work fine with 9.5" width, some pictures of your setup would help.

I tried to examine the inside of fenders with my hand and did not feel anything weird, however, workshops are not as common here that I couldn't take the wheels off to check

I have a 275/30r19 on 19x9.5 wheel and it rubs on one side only. in the rear. Wierd? rolled lip underneath and still rubs. Anyone have a problem with stock suspension being lower on one side than the other. Thats my problem right now.

I think you're rubbing because you went with PSSs. That brand is known to have a more square shoulder than other brands. Check the tire specs on tirerack.com for the 265/30/19 PSSs and you'll see the tread width is 10 inches. Check the specs for the 265/30/19 (same size) Hankook V12s and you'll see the tread width is 9.4 inches. That's a huge difference between two tires that are supposedly the same size!

To fix the rubbing you could try to roll your fenders or buy tires with a more narrow, rounded shoulder. Or if you want to stick with PSSs, get them in one size narrower. Maybe go with 255/30/19????

(front wheel)

(rear wheel)

I would say ~4cm gap to fender up front and ~3.5cm at the back

I got 19" wheels and I got PSSs and I ride way lower than that without rubbing. It's probably because you have 4 ppl in the car. Just tell them to get out, lol. Actually, first you need to find the spot where it's rubbing first. Is it in the inner liner? Is it the fender edge? Look at the tires to see if you can determine where it's hitting. If it's the inner liner, you can heat it up and push it back so it'll give more clearance. If it's the fender's edging, then you can roll the fenders inner edge, cut it, or heat it up and pull the fender out a little bit to give you more clearance.

From the pictures, I think you're hitting the inner fender lip/edge whenever you hit a bump with 4 ppl. Search on youtube for tutorials on how to "Roll your fender" or "how to pull your fenders"

Somehow I'm relutant to roll my fenders as I worry that this might chip my paint...
But at least now I know where the problem came from that I could try to fix.

Thanks you all.

BTW,if I get some coilovers and set them so hard that the wheel can't reach the fender ,is it way too stupid?Or just simply get some narrower tires ?

after discussing with my local store ,considering the cost of fixing this (tires and coilovers here are stupidly expensive) and the fact that rubbing doesn"t harm much other than mental discomfort,I decided not to care about this...
