Headlight Question

OK, read posts and thought I had low beam headlight replace down pat on my 2010 C300 4Matic. Decided to replace both as suggested at Sylvania website. Bought Silverstar Ultra bulbs. Passenger side install went well. Driver side, a little more trouble. The spring clip popped out of bracket and fell down into light chamber. I planned to use hemostats to retrieve it until they fell into space in front of radiator. Asked significant other to try her hands to retrieve, thinking them small enough to fit, but they were still to large. She thought of using a retriever instrument left over from surgery. Clip was retrieved and bulb installed. Last night I tested lights and driver side low beam is low and points way to the left! As far as I know, I didn't touch any aim settings. Maybe the bulb is not oriented in it's holder properly? Think I will release clip and rotate bulb in holder.
Any ideas what is wrong?
