Diagnostic tool question
I would like to know if the OBD2 scanners be able to pick up the vehicle past data such as mileage clocked or tampered kinda thing?
Which one is the best OBD2 scanner for C200 CGI ?
Advise appreciated...
I bought my scanner on Ebay. They vary in price depending on their features eg fault codes given as numbers or text. Mine is a Autel MaxiDigag EU702 bought a few years ago for between $200 -$300 .
The main thing is to make sure the scanner is compatible with your car. The advertising should specify this. eg OBD11 compliant European Brand vehicles including Can Bus. MB 1995 to 2006.
Some people have two, a small cheap on for in the car & another one for the workshop.

Using this OBDII scanner on my M3 (in another country) and it works fabulously, and a smartphone can retransmit the screen, as snowmuch has done, onto the aftermarket 8" nav system. Looks great, shows important codes, like the vanos (variable camshaft timing in BMW-speak) module is becoming unsoldered, which causes massive M3 engine failures.
Here is an Amazon link:
