Cost of 2nd Key (I think I know the answer but reassure me)

I bought my car from Hertz, so it had only one key. I would like to get a 2nd.

The dealer is quoting me 375 plus programming? Is this out of line? Should I check with dealers in CA (where there are many more dealers) as opposed to NV? What about eBay?

Thanks for helping me with all the newbie questions.

You can get an unprogrammed one on EBay but then will have to pay the dealer to configure it. I found this out when I had to replace a VW key before I could turn it back in.

Doesn't work that way with MB. You have to buy it from the dealer it is totally set up in Germany. 375.00 seems a bit high I seem to remember someone else had to replace one and it was in the 200.00 range but that was a while ago.

Here in SoCal, it cost $250 + tax for the key (that include 10% discount). The key do not need any programming, it work right out of the plastic bag.
