I am looking to upgrade my front speakers. Right now I am running kappas front and rear, JL JX/360 amp, and JBL MS-8. The kappas sound good at low to mid volume but at high to very high they sound ok. I was looking at the JL ZR650 CSi, HERTZ HSK 163 and a few other speakers. My budget 1200.00 retail. I would like to run 3-way (tweeter, Mid Range, and Woofer) What would y'all recommend?

 

The OEM's are just fine to my ears...but in the past when upgrading I've always gone for MB Quart speakers.

 

Hertz and JLs are great choices. MB Quarts were great but now they are owned my Maxxsonics. I just reviewed their current line and it looks impressive. I still have a set of Made-In-Germany Q Series components and look forward to someday installing them.
Have you considered Morel, Focal or Rainbow. All three make nice 3-way sets that fall into your price range.
