Lightbulb 2010 C300 MM: Video input from glovebox?

I've got a 2010 C300 with Multimedia package. Is there supposed to be an AUX VIDEO input in the glovebox?

I've used the search function and have found many debates about it, but no definitive answer. Some say you can plug in one of these and it should work:

It doesn't on mine, but that may be because I have a rear-camera. I'd like to know if it'd be a plug-and-play job to unplug the camera and re-enable the glovebox video input. I can already hear sound if I plug something into the glovebox aux-in and select Video->AUX on my COMAND. I'd just like to know if that aux-in would function as a video input too, if I plugged it in correctly (I haven't looked inside my dashboard yet, hence my wanting to know before trying it).

Thanks!

-Rod

On my car the yellow plug was not the video one (it was one of the others, but I cannot remember which). I had my back-up camera connected in the glove box before I wired it into the HU.

There is no video AUX and has never been one, there is an Audio AUX on the other hand.

The post right above yours claims there is one, and that he used it before to plug in an aftermarket rear camera using a 4-pin cable like the one I showed.

This is the same debate that's gone on and on in other threads. Some people guarantee there isn't one, then others say there is and they've used it using a 4-pin cable like the one above. I guess the only way to find out will be to pull out the COMAND and see if my camera is taking the video input that the glovebox aux-in could be using.

The Media Interface kit is supposed to be able to play video from an iPod in the glovebox, so I'm assuming there is a built-in video signal from the glovebox to the COMAND HU as long as you didn't replace it with a rear camera.

Many features are model/year/market specific so just to clarify; C300, 2010 with COMAND and MM in Canada, comes with video input in the glove box for ipod etc. I had to remove this connection at the HU when I wired in my after-market back-up camera. The connector I used at the HU had 2 inputs so I used one for the camera and one to re-connect the glove box video aux input. I have not tested the glove box input since.

I am sure that Vic is correct when he says that there never was a video aux input to the glove box in Sweden, but it is there in Canadian models.

Ahhhhhhhhh thank you Rogwp!!!

Do you know about U.S. versions by any chance? Mine is a 2010 C300 Sport w/MM and Premium 1 and the glovebox input gives me audio (if I select Video->Aux in COMAND) but no video, as I have a camera and see that instead. I'm thinking of either splicing into the video input from the Camera (which is disabled when not in reverse,) or looking around to see if there's something I can reconnect to have both inputs simultaneously.
