Blacked out my grill
I want to thank this forum for all the great info.
I decided to paint the silver on my grill a satin black to match the powder coat that I did on my wheels. So my car would only be black and chrome , no silver painted parts. Originally I tried to do it with plasti dip while it was on the car because I did. It know how to take it off and the dealer wanted $70 to R&R it. The plasti dip gave me a chance to see that milked the results but it did not look as perfect as I wanted by masking it and painting on the car.
Thanks to this forum I found a couple threads and a link to the video of the German guy removing the grill.
It was as easy as they said, 2 minutes a little firm pressure at the bottom rt and lf side of the star and a little screwdriver to pop out the t bar in the middle behind the star and pop off the chrome pieces. After 15-20 removing the plasti dip and cleaning the surfaces I shot it with 4 coats of rust oleum satin black all surface paint and snapped it back together.

I have the same look on my grill and was considering blacking out the chrome trim. Here's an idea of what it might look like...(my car is black too, so this was a test for me as well

I used Plasti Dip to see if I liked it and then decided to remove it and paint it. With the plasti Dip I originally did not remove the grill, just taped it and painted it and I never got the clean lines I wanted at the chrome strips and star.
It is super easy to just remove the grill and then remove the chrome parts to Plasti Dip it or paint it , faster than trying to tape it up., Only tool needed is a small screwdriver or knive to pop the T bar out of the back of the Star, just press hard into the grill at the bottom right and lf of the star and it will pop the bottom of the grill off the top of the bumper cover and then pop the T bar off the back of the Star and lift the grill out - 2 minutes

By the way those are your wheels on the car in the picture after they were powder coated black satin.
Thanks again.
