W204 in pain

A 78 year old lady t-boned me yesterday afternoon. I just waxed the car in the morning for 3 hours then this....pain I say pain! not to mention I just recently been in surgery last week in the neck now my neck is in pain. Car swerved and fish-tailed a little before I crossed the outer lane and almost went up in the curb. I say this car handled pretty well and I didn't lose control. Good thing my new rims are not yet installed as the rear rim got beaten up pretty well.

Some dumb *** passing in oncoming almost hit me on a rural road last weekend, thankfully there was farmland on both sides and I was able to get my *** over on the grass and barely avoided a wreck.

But dang.... People first, then things. I hope you're okay, especially after your surgery. At the end of the day, a car is just another worthless (you can argue that) toy. Get better soon, see a doctor if you need to, and then see what you can do about your car.

Taking the car to MB Canada body shop at Monday. I have to literally "tape" her up to be able to drive legally. Car pulls to the right when I let go of the steering wheel not to mention my steering wheel is off centre already. Lots of creaking sounds and front windows won't open you will hear a "pop" then stops. The seal of the door is not good anymore as it sounded like the door is slightly open when you drive. I tried driving at freeway and it is noisy as hell.

Hopefully she gets fixed as I really like the color combination of this car. But again I do hope that the main structure was not bent.

Okay....after almost 2 weeks of waiting I just got a word from MB that the cost of repairing the car is +$14,000 not including the cost for any suspension damage. That significantly reduces that car's value during trade-in time or selling it privately. What do you guys think I should do?

That sucks to hear its gonna be that much. Try to claim as a total loss and get a new one?

I personally would not buy a car that has been in any accident such as this, unless it was a super deal, but thats just me being picky.

We all hope for the best resolution of the accident and feel your pain. But aren't we all becoming so self focused that no one has given a thought to the condition of the 78 yr old lady? Was she injured? How did her car hold up?

The lady is fine as far as I know. I have no clue about the cost of her car's damage but I know I had more damage than hers from what I saw. Mind you her car was a MDX SUV. I remember her left front fender was dislocated and half of her front bumper bent down. Other than she yelling at me and making me feel that I and not her smashed her car is another story and it is good that she is old and she is a lady or I might have summoned lucifer from hell from her actions and ignorance towards traffic rules.
