Overfilled all fluids!?

Bought my 2010 C300 about a week or so ago and noticed that ALL of the fluids were overfilled. We only drove it for week like this before I was able to get the fluids down to the proper levels.

The oil was overfilled by about 24.5 oz(3/4 qt) or 8.8% over capacity, brake fluid over by 2 oz. or 11.8% and power steering fluid over by 2-3/4 oz or 9.5%.

Any chance of any long term damage or reduced life from having driven like this?

Any chance the overfilling of the oil was why I couldnt get better than 27 mpg on the highway driving like a mum-maw?

unless you have visual signs of oil leaks around the engine and components, you should be ok. glad you got rid of it sooner than later

Depends how long they were like that for, or if they've been overfilled it's whole life. But, if you take care of it from now on, you should be OK.

Those excess amounts would cause zero damage. Cars in general are not this sensitive. If cars were damaged this easily, there would be cars all over the place failing due to this scenario's such as this. We are talking about machines here designed to endure extreme cold, heat, long trips, and abuse for hundreds of thousands of miles. They are not this sensitive.

Don't even think about it.

Thats good to know.

I had read in the past about blowing out seals in PS pumps from overfilling and something about foaming when putting in too much engine oil.

Yup absolutely. But only if you added say another 4 litres or something. Even then probably not. Crankcase and engine is, again, not that sensitive that a little extra will even make the slightest difference. Honestly man, don't worry at all about it.
