LCI is more of a bmw term stands for Life Cycle Impulse and mostly means the unique look in the taillights, the 2012+ c class has a LCI tailights for example and 2008-2011 c class is pre-LCI.

With 20+ years, 400,000 miles, 2 MB, 2 BMW in NH and VT snow and salt country I found no possible need for undercoating.
Just my opinion, spend your money on undercarriage washes in snow/salt season.
