Seeking information on c250
I am about to purchase a certified preowned 2013 c250 for my wife, and this is our first time buying mercedes benz.
I have couple questions that I wish to ask to experts in this forum before I purchase the car.
Here are my questions:
1. What are some common problems that you see often with this model or Benz in general?
2. What is average maintanence costs for this model - like cost of oil change and other necessary tune ups at dealership.
3. Any advice and thoughts on owning c250
Thanks much in advance,
1. C-Class's have been know to have EIS issues which means the car doesn't start when the key or Start Button is pushed. I have had a 2008 and a 2013 and have had the issue, but it was resolved by turning off the car and re-trying. I would not have bought a 2013 if I thought it was a major issue.
2. A Service- $150-$300 depending on area and dealership. My Dealerships in the area are always running specials. B Service- $300-$600. Transmission Service at 39K Miles- $500-$600 if done correctly (drain Torque Converter TC). The A and B alternate every 12K-13K miles.
3. I am very pleased with my 2013 C250 Coupe. I do miss my Sedan and would definitely consider buying a sedan again. I have friends driving BMWs, Lexus, Infinitis, etc and they always want to drive in "The Benz". Certified Pre-Owned is the best way to buy a Mercedes. The only thing I don't like is the short standard warranty. The CPO gives you additional years and mileage. I opted for the upgraded Warranty which extends mine to 7 yrs/135K miles.
