Installed backup camera, some question

i dont have MM on my 2011 C300, it had Audio 20. I purchased 4.3" Inch TFT Car LCD Rear View Rearview DVD Mirror Monitor and a backup camera. I power the monitor to "fuse 71" and the backup camera to the "reverse wire". I did first have both on "fuse 71" and the monitor are on all time, I just want it when in reverse and I redo them.

I checked the monitor to make sure everything hook up right and all function well, without starting the car(i have my key on turn half way and put the gear in reverse) and it look good, Clear view.

When I started the car, and i put the gear in reverse, the monitor come on for a few second, then I saw the rear view but with lines on it and it come and go(the view). What did I do wrong?

i think i fixed it but i need some input. i wired the camera to the reverse cable(at the back of the vehicle by the housing/adapter) and the monitor wired to "fuse 71", seem like it working ok.

Will there interface work with the base model Audio 20 (non MM, no Nav) ? On their website it says that it connects to the "factory navigation screen".

Thanks,

Gus

C220
I am in the same boat, my c220 has the base audio20 and the easiest and this seems the less invasive and inexpensive way to add a rear view camera.

I have a few ?.

How did you get the cables from the rear view mirror to the rear, and how hard/easy it was?

Does it bother you to have the screen right in the middle of the mirror when you actually want to use the mirror?

How look does it look during the day (with the screen on and off)
