Clunking when turning the car in reverse

So, whenever I reverse, I'll wait a second or two for it to get into gear and then I'll reverse. Every now and then, when I reverse and start to turn it, like backing out of a parking space and turning, I get this clunking noise like I am caught on something. I can definitely feel it, it's not natural. Anybody have this happen? It's weird because it doesn't really do it all the time, just randomly does it sometimes. Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot this? Like, what components can possibly rub together when I am turning in reverse?

There is a TSB out for this, and it is deemed normal.

I've had mine looked at 3 times because of how loud it does it. Apparently it is caused by various suspension parts unloading.

What's a TSB? Do you have a link to where I can read more about this issue? And thank you very much for replying btw, glad to know that my tranmission isn't going to fall onto the ground from this lol

It's a technical service bulletin.

My WIS subscription has lapsed - hopefully someone with an active one on here can pull the description

Sorry , I can't see that it is normal when a current model Mercedes Benz C Class has clunking noises apparent when reversing.

Romeo ,I think you should definitely look further into this.

John.

Mercedes Benz has stated that it is normal and a result of a design of the front suspension. It's not just the W204 that is affected.

In the US, once a TSB has been released calling something normal, good luck in getting a dealer to fix it - not sure how things are in the ROW.
