Differential Leak

Differential Leak
As the titles states, my rear differential is leaking. I have a 2011 c class with 50k miles on it. Im aware since i am not under warranty this can be a costly job to re seal the differential. Is there any alternatives i can take, is this a job that should be done immediately, and is this covered by mb?

Your action will depend on the extent of the leak.
If it is just a weep from a seal it may last for some time . I have had diffs with seal weeps that lasted the life of the car.
Main thing is to check the level on a regular basis.

I developed a leak on the rear diff on my 2009 C3004M, 103K miles. Just occurred this week, I just had the car in for a major 100K service at the dealer a few weeks ago and it was fine. The strange thing is that its leaking from above, not from the bottom of the housing. It runs down of course and drips off the bottom, but I can see that the source of the leak is higher up on the housing, I would thought it would leak from the bottom or from the drain plug - but no. How much fluid can I afford to lose before the car is not drivable? The earliest appointment I could get at the dealer is 6 days from now.
