C 250 ECM update
I just had my car serviced and the dealer did the ECM campaign update/flash. I dont see a big difference but I do think it is an improvement in reducing the lag. I dont feel any significant turbo lag now , the engine seems to accelerate faster, but the transmission is still a little slower that it should be to pick the right gear. Ive learned to manual shift this car if Im going to need to make a fast move to pass or when I want to drive aggressively so the trans is in the right gear to minimize the lag. With the ECM update it is over all better especially if you are in man mode and have the rpms up

How did you know to have them check about the ECM? Was it the way it was accelerating before you brought it in? I have a 2013 c250, and just thought the lag (when you "punch it", and the car kinda waits a second) was just part of the engine vs the v6 versions. My car is pretty new, so I'm assuming that my ECM is up to date...would it be silly to ask the dealership if there is an update available? Or, is there a way to check the current version through the dash/engineering mode?
I can tell when driving hard everytime the turbo kicks in, usually in the 4-5000 rpm area.

I learned that there was a software update on this forum.
IMO the biggest part of the lag is caused by transmission lag. Our cars are very slow to downshift. If I'm manually shifting I can almost eliminate any lag by keeping the romain the 3000 and above.
The update seems to have improved the response in both engine and. Transmission.
