C250 CDI noise when chaning gears

I`ve recently bought a 2009 C250 CDI with manual transmission. I`ve got two major problems. The engine seems very noisy but i understood that's pretty normal for the C250 CDI. The other problem is that i get a "roar" every time i hit the clutch to change gears. That seems to happen while RPMs decrease... cause if i hit the clutch while the car is at idle RPM , there is no sound. Everything else behaves normaly, the gear changes are fast, the car accelerates fine... the only problem is the sound...

I`ve done a couple of clutch tests and it's not slipping or anything like that...
I don't think this is normal... Anyone else ran into this problem?

Is the engine any more noisy & was the changing gear roar there when you test drove the car ?

Comforting 'diesel clatter' is heard when driving at low speeds & stationary but you should not hear it at cruising speed.

Where does the roar sound come from? Are the revs increasing ?

You do not say where you are located?

I'm not talking about diesel clatter. The engine is noisy in a sporty way. It produces a pretty powerfull roar when accelerating. But i understood that it is normal for a C250... When i step on the clutch, as the RPMs decrease, there is another similar roar for a sec. This is what concerns me... To be honest, it sounds as if it's produced by the engine as well... The car behaved like this when i bought it... There is no increase in RPM when i hit the clutch, they start decreasing right away.

Sounds as if you have an exhaust problem .

I have never heard a MB diesel with a 'sporty' exhaust.

It may have been modified & or the catalytic convertors & DPF removed ?

Place a rag over the exhaust let it build up some pressure when the engine is running to see whether you hear a gas leak in the system.
