OBX Headers

Hi, I know this has came up before, but i would like to ask if this brand is any good, or since it been out for a long time, some of us might have tried it. Is there any feedback or recommendations on headers and maybe downpipes for our car?

Deleting the primary cats adds between 15-25 Horsepower.

Wow I was not expecting that much. I was guessing 5 maybe 10 hp. Other than throwing a code, emissions test, and louder will I have any other problems? And the biggest of all will it damage my engine?
Thanks for the help w204_Generic

I believe that's for the secondary cats. More along the lines with 5 horsepower though.

As for damaging you engine, it honestly cannot. Cats actually put more stress on the engine as the exhaust is more restrictive to come out. Taking these restrictive devices out help take off the restriction so your car can finally breathe, due to a more free flowing exhaust.

The only downsides/problems to this is:

1. A possible fuel smell. (However, I only smell the fuel on initial startup, after that is goes away. This is with the secondary cats still on though, you only really smell it of you have absolutely no cats)

2. Soot on the inside of your exhaust tips(easily cleanable, but gets annoying to wipe repeatedly.

Generally OBX products don't have the best quality so it's a crap shoot. If you're deleting your primary cat then you'll need to find a way around the cell code. You may also lose some low-end tq but gain more mid to top end power.
