Oil Extractor Pumps...

Trying to do my own oil for the first time on my 10' c300 4matic. Been reading alot about extraction method and different pumps. Seems like 4matic has a problem with the tubing not reaching all the way down the dip stick tube. So I would probably need to have a rubber stopper around the tube and seal the air in the dipstick tube so that it basically sucks through the actual dip stick tube instead of a plastic clear tube that I would fish down. Did I get this correct?

So now, I am wondering what the best pump is to get?
I found this simple drill pump which is inexpensive and i can connect any type of tubing to it that i choose. will it be enough to suck up the oil from the dip tube? http://www.walmart.com/ip/21797561?w...599990&veh=sem

What are you others using? i know theres a lot of mityvac users here, and ive seen the topsider as well(actually used to have that for my old bmw which i sealed the drain plug due to a crack, thus having to do oil changes by extraction method)

ps. the dealer from which i bought the car quoted me 495$ for my next service which is a B service at 36000, not including the transmission service. So i want to cut down the costs by doing most of the stuff myself.

Read the oil change threads. Here is the adapter you need:

I don't think anyone has posted that they used a drill pump for this. Most use a mityvac (search amazon), I am using a powered (12V) marine evac unit which cost me around $90, some people use even higher end special purpose extraction units.

For what it is worth, with the removal of six bolts, the belly pan comes off, and you have easy access to the oil pan plug. Save yourself a lot of money on the pump, and you will be assured of max evacuation of the old oil.

I use a mityvac.

Pulls out about 8 L every time.

I use a Motive extractor because it's smaller but pulls about the same amount as the Mityvac. However, it seems the Motive is hit or miss with quality, fortunately I got one that works save for the gauge which doesn't seem to move. The Mityvac comes highly recommended by people but for me it was just too big as sometimes I travel with my Motive to my friends place to help them do their cars.

I've used this same type of syphon pump you linked to here. Took about 5 mins to get all the oil out. Worked great! And its cheap. I've only done one oil change on my w204 but I'm going to be using this method in the future.

Bought my supplies today at Home Cheapo. got the pump, clear 5/8th tubing and clear 1/4th tubing. Im planning on connecting the 5/8 to the 1/4 and the 1/4th to the pump end. then the other side of the pump into an oil pan. I will post a DIY thread using this method.
Also i bought a rubber stopper which i will fit as an adapter to the dip stick tube, since i have read that the 4Matics dont allow full extraction by only fishing the tubing down into the tube. So the idea is to just create suction at the top of the dipstick tube and pull up the oil through the dipstick tube. Can someone confirm that im understanding this correctly...

Your local independent shop can do all of this for far less than the dealer. Here in NC the local guy quoted me $250 for the entire B Service. No transmission.

yes i realize that. but im not trusting my car to an independent shop, at least for now since its still on a warranty. Im going to try to do most of the stuff myself, and just send it in to the dealer for inspection, brake flush, and transmission service.
