Replacing light with non oem?

My passenger side tail light needs to be replaced. It has some debris inside of it that is impossible to get out. It looks like it's smoked and is darker then my other tail light. I don't know how or when it happened but I want to replace it. I was wondering if anyone has gone with just a "replacement" light and what they thought? Since I'm only looking to replace one and not the set.

My car is a 2010 and it has the LED tail lights. I can get a replacement one for about $100 where an oem one is a few hundred bucks. Just wondering if it'll hold up for a few years and if it'll look identical to my other one. The big issue is that right now, they look different and it drives me nuts. So it's more of a cosmetic issue then anything else. The light functions perfectly fine still.

Just wondering what you guys think. Might save me a few bucks but not want to cheap out if it'll end up costing me more in the end

You mean a generic brand made OEM style tail light? Yea, it should last you for a while. If its those full LED tails then not worth it.

Ya it just says its OE comparable and it looks just like the oem one. I'm only replacing one, not the set. Just seeing if anyone has good or bad experience with them

There are some used real OEM w204 tail lights on eBay, I saw one for $60 for just the passenger side.

I looked on ebay. I saw a couple cheap ones but one was cracked and missing a cover and the other one had the same exact issue as mine (debris inside) I think ultimately I will just end up getting a used oem one because I'm unsure about the replacement aftermarket OE ones.

I don't think you need to worry that much. Depo makes OEM tail lights for many manufactures and I'm sure I've seen your tail light on their site before. Check them out.
