I replaced the interior light with an azn led. Now the front dome light just stays lit. I can not turn off manually with the switch. Even when I lock my doors with remote the front dome stays on, but the back dome (which I haven't changed yet) turns off. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Perhaps you did not attach all wiring properly, the CAN wires specifically.

Very likely. Can you try to jiggle the switch and see if you can get contact to switch it off ?Originally Posted by Project C

My wife's 02 s55 interior lights stay on all the time when switched to to automatic mode of coming on when you open the door they won't go off now. I can move the switch to the off position and they turn off. But in what I call the auto mode or door mode they will not turn off. Does any one know if the body control computer control this?

Sorry for bumping an old thread but I'm in the exact same boat. Anyone know what it is that causes this? Absolutely nothing I do besides pulling the bulbs gets the front interior lights to shut off. Pressing the door button off even does nothing; my front interior lights are stuck on indefinitely. Originally Posted by jluang

Hm... When I replaced my footlight bulbs for LEDs, they now stay on all the time when the car is on which is kind of cool for the ambient lighting, but I am not sure if it was like that before I put LEDs?

That's normal. You probably didn't notice before worth your halogen bulbs because they were so dim.Originally Posted by xEryx

I do have to send you an email though cause one of the LEDs keeps giving errors.

Probably just a damaged unit we can warranty. Just shoot me an email and we'll get you sorted.

This is the case for me. I pretty much replaced every bulb in my car with AZN lights. Is there any chance one of the OTHER lights having an issue could cause my interior light to get stuck on?Originally Posted by jluang

EDIT: NOTE ADDED: Even when putting the stock bulbs back in my front ceiling lights, they still are stuck on. *NOTHING* I do gets them to shut off. I've considered changing every bulb in the car back to stock to see if it's a resistance issue somewhere, but I don't want to waste the time if they're not tied into each other at all so that won't make a difference. I pulled the fuse and everything looked fine, (nothing blown), and of course that shut off all the interior lights, but as soon as I plug the fuse in the front goes back to being stuck on. I'm wondering if I need an entirely new overhead unit. What worries me is that another user here had this exact issue come up when installing AZN lights...

So the warranty company is blaming the LEDs They say they shorted my board in my overhead control unit. $500+ in repair bill over these effing LEDs... >

The dealership knows me well and they aren't going to lie for me. They know that's what caused it and they're not going to defraud the warranty company. :-\ I ordered a used one on eBay for $70 just now. Praying it just works. Four harness wires and a pry tool is all that's needed, as long as it's not a part "programmed" to your VIN or some crap the way Mercedes works... Originally Posted by xEryx

That's not too bad and it should be easily swap-able. You could have also gone to another dealer, I doubt an LED is going to cause that.

I actually agree with you, and I'm going to stick LEDs back in the replacement one as well, but the dealership says "it wouldn't just fry; it had to have been the LEDs" so they're refusing to help me. Originally Posted by xEryx
