Why is it SO HARD to find any info on NEW recaro seats??

I'm not in the market for "racing" seats or anything, just a very comfortable alternative to the stock seating in the c250. I'm interested in the recaro ergomed es, with heated/ventilated seat for the driver's seat. I realize that it's upwards of $3000, but I don't care. I'm willing to pay for a new seat, and I'm in the Dallas, TX area, and it's so hard to find info on this seat.

Also, I want the power seat to retain it's functions (on the door/button panel, electric functions), so I need to find someone/somewhere that has the knowledge to install this seat.

Once again, Dallas, TX, recaro ergomed es. Any suggestions? I know this seat is from germany, and so is the car (lol). It's just so difficult to find any leads on the actual seat itself.

I'm not looking for an "ebay good/used deal" or anything. I just want a new seat, and an installer that knows what they are doing.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

I understand the desire for ventilated seats, but I would be very reluctant to install a non-OE seat. Unlike long ago, the seat structure and its attachment to the floor pan is an integral part of the restraint system. The forces which are directed into the pan, based on the seat and the mount, are carefully designed to work with both the inflatable restraints (forward/side impact) and head restraints/seatback rigidity (rear impact). If the OE seat assumes a certain load path, and the aftermarket seat is more rigid, rather than the seatback offering a controlled yield in a rear impact, for example, the seat attachment to the floorpan could fracture. In brief, I would not do it.

However, what you could do, if cost is not an issue, is go sit in the AMG C63 and assess that seat. If you like that fit (although it lacks ventilation), that should be interchangeable with your C250 structure, and make maintaining the functions a simpler proposition.

Good luck!

The thought of swapping in a C63 driver's seat has crossed my mind. It's a factory part so as Sportstick said the chassis and seat have been engineered to work together, which is a huge plus from performance and safety perspectives. One would assume you can also adjust the C63 seat via door-mounted electric seat adjusters as you would the stock seats.
