new intercooler

i need a new intercooler and i was wondering since my car is mapped to place the intercooler of a higher version C class
its a C200 CDI and i was thinking about the C220 CDI intercooler
since my car has 200 hp and 550nm torque.
not sure if it would help anything though

I also have a 200CDI. I can only describe it as being lazy. And that is a compliment. Could you post all the mods you made? 200hp is nice, but 550nm is impressive.
I would like to flash the ECU, but I was told it is quite hard to work with it.

As for the intercooler, are you sure that the 220CDI one is larger? Isn't the turbo the same in all the 180, 200 and 220CDI?

the 220 has 2 turbo's like the 250

about my car... its mapped on size for my car, i have complete new exhaust system and some parts to cope with the added torque are from the 250.
now i'm thinking about the intercooler

There is not a lot of info about the OM651 engine(I am assuming that you have the BlueEFF.). Actually, there is almost nothing.

Do you know what mechanical differences are between the 180, 200, 220 and 250CDI's? I really want to upgrade my 200 and I know quite a few 220 and 250's that are damaged/dismantled/breaking.
Any kind of info would be much apreciated.

For the moment, I am considering an ECU flash and maybe a full exhaust from a 220/250CDI. Again, is there any difference between the exhausts?

I still find it surprising how you squeezed that much torque from the 200. In my oppinion, the engine is underpowered for the car.
So, since the exhaust is pretty much the same, then I will just look for a good tuner.

yea but you should keep in mind, i don't use my car to drag race, i don't go over 2800rpm before the engine oil is warm, i leave the engine on for a minute after a drive for the turbo and i never delay or skip maintance.
pushing your car to the limit too much, go cheap on oil, fuel or maintance and your car might be broken after 5k miles.

There was a 250 Diesel? As far as I know the 250 Petrol version is only a single turbo.

Also, if the 220 is dual turbo to your 200 single turbo, the intercooler would probably not be a drop in simply for the fact that the intercooler most likely has dual inlet and outlets since there are 2 turbos.

I think I was misunderstood. I was saying that the stock 200 is underpowered. At 550nm I think you can have some really good fun with it.

For the rest time and maintanance, I can only say bravo. I also do those things and all the cars we had in the family worked flawlessly.

As for the intercooler, from my limited knowledge, I know that a larger intercooler on a diesel engine will bring less of a performance upgrade compared with a petrol engine. So even if a 220CDI intercooler would be larger and would fit, there wouldn't be any substantial increase in power.
