Apple CarPlay
So Apple CarPlay for iPhone 5-5S has been announced as supported by new Mercedes models. Looks like Mercedes is completely ditching Media Interface Plus... I wonder if a retrofit kit will be available for 2012-2013.

That's a current option with Media Interface Plus available for our cars w/o nav (Audio 20), Nav via iPhone in addition to some other integration. I think it's something around the $1000 range for the equipment and install though. Maybe this will be less, maybe Apple will subsidize retrofit installs as part of an agreement with Mercedes. It does seem very possible that it would come to the 2012-2013s as Media Interface Plus was already an option to us.

I would be very interested to hear if they offer a retro for a 2013. I don't have the Nav package and it would be pretty awesome for everything to sync right up. I'd pay to get that option...

I am unfamiliar with this. I have a 2013 C300 with the premium 1 pack. No multimeda/nav. It is possible to do the carplay or do you need to get something from Benz first? Sorry if it's a dumb question.

It would require some retrofit from Mercedes to work, which may or may not be produced. Mercedes currently offers the Media interface plus option for 2012-2014 Cs without nav (Audio 20), but from the looks of it, CarPlay is a direct replacement as an iPhone interface.
